Wow...time sure does fly when you're having fun. Well, I don't know about you, but I'll probably forget the magic of Inauguration Day 2009 fairly soon. Before I do, I'm going to flash back and remember this very special moment.

Yeah that's right. So here it is. I've always been an admirer of Tony Robbins. I've read his books and sporadically listened to his tapes. A few months ago I joined one of his fan groups on Facebook and people immediately started blasting me, "Hey dude, are you serious?" I got self conscious and dropped out. But no more. I am a fan--period.
Last month I went to one of his seminars in New York and loved it. I met a lot of great people. Sure, there were a few characters as well. But for the love of pete, people are people.
Here's the deal: I take physical conditioning very seriously, and lord knows I could use plenty of emotional conditioning. And mental hygiene is what Tony Robbins is ultimately all about.
I think a lot of his curriculum is gospel. Sure, I can't stomach some of what he espouses -- particularly many of his perspectives on nutrition. And he and his co-horts engage in a fair amount of aggressive up-selling that I find unpalatable, But I take the really good, ignore the not-so-good, and hopefully learn something I can use along the way.
So if you think I'm a freak for liking Tony Robbins, I respect your opinion. And you can piss off.
I'm done with the closet. Happy Birthday to me!
As I get older I have a lower tolerance for hearing other people's opinions...their COMMENTS...on virtually everything. Well, I do make an exception for POSITIVE comments. So how am I, the editor-in-chief at everythingsteve.com, doing at basically living life, instead of feeling the need to comment on most every aspect of it, and share those comments with everyone, most of whom would prefer not to hear them? Ummmm...not so well! But I'm getting better.
The way I see it, this blog and outlets like Yelp are great vehicles for getting out those comments. Oh, and of course Amazon also. And about a gazillion other places on the Webosphere.
But then there is music...and man, do I have opinions about music. Most everyone does, right? Actually, in the last 15 years I've only met one woman...an executive at a PR firm who basically said something along the lines of, "I don't really like music. I listen to news on the radio."
OK then, what was I talking about? Oh yes, music!
I've mentioned Radio Paradise before. They're a listener supported Internet station hailing from Paradise, California. Under the auspices of founder, CEO, mayor, postmaster and hamburglar Bill Goldsmith, Radio Paradise plays an eclectic leaning toward crunchy mix of music. Sure, you'll hear a pretty wide playlist, but you'll hear a whole lot of crunch, like 22 minute Jethro Tull album sides, for example, and a whole lot o' Putumayo-type stuff. Incidentally, the politically correct term would be "world music."
Radio Paradise (RP) also has a forum where registered members can opine about the playlist. And the raging barroom fights about musical preference differences on this forum can get hilarious. Surprisingly, I've never been involved in one of those brawls.
Recently I looked at my profile in RP and pulled down every comment I've ever made about any song in the last three years. Sure, I know I'm funny, but even I was surprised at just how witty some of the opinions I expressed were. Damn you good, man! Click here to see them. Do you agree/disagree with any of these calls? For example, do you actually like Al Stewart and are now deeply offended?
And by all means, please put Radio Paradise on your short list and consider throwing them a few bucks. They're nice people providing a very good service.
